28th Feb - Saturday. Joe and Kim come to dinner

Firstly, Rain. Big Time. Some cyclone decided to visit NZ. We stayed in and watched the rain fall.

With a late minute panic with me running around trying to buy tablecloth and/or placemats...

With some boerewors and t-bone steaks marinaded in Heinekin and spices...

You'd have thought I would smile.

March 1st The Matheson Batch. Port Charles. Coramandel Penisular.

200km. 4hours. 170km at 100kph followed by 30km at about 10kph.

First stop, Thames.

The coast Gulls. The coast the other way The cost inbetween. The coast to the north Trees, background. Thames. Who are they kidding? Some people picnic in the shade Not us! Gull Same gull.

Need a break from mountain driving.

Look down there.. People live there! Houses! Guess the direction of the prevailing wind? Proof it was me. Well, my car Folds in the earth Turkeys Scenic place for a rubbing bin. That tree again. Folds and tree. beautiful The road goes down in line with the trees I've seen that tree before.

One Good Tern - or maybe fifty. And my fave Gulls. Look at the size of Junior!

May look bleak, but wonderful really.
