First of all, two swallows. Which I'm reliably informed doesn't make a summer. Good thing really.
Then the Morton Estate Winery. Lora saw the building in Cape Dutch style and we had to stop. It turned out to be a Winery (with a vineyard behind it) and a restaurant on the side. We had a luxurious lunch and felt very happy. This was just outside of Katikati not far north of Tauranga on the "2".
We did intend to visit "The Bird Gardens" but as soon as Lora saw the cages she ran away :-O
First stop, Karangahake Gorge. A beautiful site. Some photos to prove we went there. This is a long and windy road. I was recommended not to do it at night (after everyone learnt about my fears).
(Pictures of Lora removed at her request)
Heres a vertical photomerge:
I stayed overnight in Auckland at the Airport Oakwood Manor. Not bad apart from the ants in the kitchen..
Aragorn was visiting with his peeling nose.
New hat!
