The Last Day At Work

First of all, arrange a leaving platter of foods at Subway. This is on Main Street, Mt Maunganui.

The girls cried, they were so sad to see me leave - "You're our best customer". They meant "best dressed" of course :-)

So, here's the bulk of what I left.

I bought the contents of the tuck box (sponsered by the Women's Refuge in Tauranga) and there is the Subway Platter on the side. And a few other bits I couldn't be bothered packing.

Farewell pint in Mt Mellicks. Looks like a real pub. Has a proprietor with an awful accent. Either he's pretending to be Irish or he's been in NZ so long he can't remember how to talk properly..

Yes that's a pint of Guinness. Wasn't the freshest I've had, but as the only pint of Guinness I've had all year it was nectar.

The first picture shows the Blarney Wheel. Once every so often Mt Mellick has a Blarney night where the bar staff spin the wheel and give you the discount shown. I saw someone get their pint for free.. Stefa, Dan and Kent joined me for a drink. We had just the one and then went our merry ways. Boo Hoo!

Pancake House. Not far from the Karangahake Gorge. Lora an I passed it a few times at high speed and wished we hadn't. Steve stopped and we had a crepe (outside, in the waning sun). Tasted as good as it looks in the photos.

Auckland Airport and the poster of Megan Delaney. You'll have to see steve's site for the details.

Gate 10 at Auckland Airport.

The Aeroplane that will take me home:

LAX. What a yukky place to spend two hours.

The queue for the transit lounge/immigration

Another shot of the plane. Oh and that's LA in the background.

Nearly to the immigration desks!

Through immigration into the well stocked tranit lounge.

With succulent food items to wet your appetite:

And a selection of drinks par excellence:

First class seating. Somewhere.

And a fully-stocked duty free concession.

Its good to be home.
